Buyer Considerations: Straight From the Dealmakers

Goulston & Storrs joined a fantastic group of clients and friends at the Smart Business Dealmakers Conference in Boston last Thursday. The turnout exceeded our expectations, and the sessions were informative and well-attended. In fact, our own John Cushing moderated a panel on Buyer Considerations in a Changing Market in front of a packed room.

The panel, which also featured Lynn Schade of Middlesex Bank, Scott Veazey of Clearhaven Partners, Christopher Caprio of Focus Technology Solutions, Inc., and Robert Menn of Gemini Investors, included a dynamic discussion around buy-side transactions, acquisitions, and new areas for consideration in this economic climate. During the discussion, the panel stressed that three considerations buyers are looking at include:

1. Sustainable profitability driven by a stable customer base.

2. Strong management teams with vision that would be good partners.

3. Targets that are well prepared for a sale process.

Despite the uncertainty in the marketplace, the panelists agreed that there are great deals to be made this year.

The day was topped off by an award ceremony honoring the 2023 Dealmakers of the Year, including our client Alexandre Theoharidis, CEO of Coastal Medical Transportation Systems LLC.
