Clients navigating real estate transactions and development projects use Yari Sanchez’s valuable assistance from concept to completion. Yari handles all aspects of real estate, including permitting and zoning, acquisition and disposition, and financing for mixed-use, office, retail, institutional, multi-family residential, and other projects. Her work often involves complex projects such as multi-phased, master-planned developments, office/labspace projects, and ground lease developments.
Yari serves a diverse group of clients including public and private companies, joint ventures, general and limited partnerships, foreign investors, medical and educational institutions, private and charitable foundations, and public-private partnerships. Contributing to the success of many significant projects, Yari has worked on transformative projects such as Boston's Seaport Square and the Cambridge Crossing developments. Through her varied work, she is familiar with the special concerns particular to many industry sectors, such as higher education, health care, residential, and real estate development in general.
Applying a Legislative and Community Relations Lens
To provide clients with the best possible legal advice, Yari draws upon her work as a former legislative aide and community liaison for the New York City Council, including for the Office of the Speaker. In this capacity, she worked on government-side permitting for major real estate projects, taking account of community concerns and economic development goals for the district she served, and meeting with developers, business owners, and other community leaders.
Leading the Way Toward the Future
With a commitment to helping future leaders in the field, Yari served as a teaching assistant at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design for a course entitled: “Creating Real Estate Ventures: A Legal Perspective.” She helped plan the coursework, interacting with students and running realistic mock negotiations in a classroom setting. Yari also served for several consecutive years on the Real Estate Section Steering Committee of the Boston Bar Association, where she co-chaired the Fundamentals Subcommittee, helping plan seminars for other attorneys and law students.
Additionally committed to supporting the broader community, Yari provides volunteer legal assistance to Kids In Need of Defense (KIND), an organization offering high-quality legal services to children in immigration court proceedings, as well as social support services.
Yari is fluent in Spanish.
